One of the biggest lessons coaching has taught me is this:

I can’t expect people to be me.

I train a certain way.
I handle fatigue a certain way.
I enjoy pushing hard.
I’m comfortable being uncomfortable.

That doesn’t mean my clients should be.

Good coaching starts when you stop projecting your own tolerance, habits, and mindset onto someone else.

Two people can want the same outcome and need very different approaches to get there.

One person thrives on structure.
Another feels boxed in by it.

One needs pushing.
Another needs reassurance.

One can handle high stress weeks.
Another needs training to reduce stress, not add to it.

My job as a coach isn’t to create mini versions of me.
It’s to help someone become the best version of themselves.

That means learning how they respond.
Physically.
Mentally.
Emotionally.

It means adjusting not just the programme, but the delivery.

Same goal.
Different coaching.

That’s N=1.

And that’s where real progress happens.
