Start slow. Stay consistent.
This week I was out walking the dog, nothing fancy, no gym, no workout gear, and I had a thought I needed to share.
So many people are trying to go all in.
They start strong, go five days a week, track every macro, set big goals and they burn out within a month.
Because the truth is, intensity isn’t the problem.
Consistency is.
People think they need to be in peak condition just to start.
They tell themselves:
“I’ll join the gym when I’m a bit fitter.”
“I’ll get a coach when I’ve got more time.”
“I’ll take it seriously when work calms down.”
And in the meantime… nothing changes.
They stay stuck. Starting again every few weeks.
Never really getting anywhere.
Here’s what I’ve seen over 20 years of coaching:
Some of the strongest, fittest, most capable people I work with?
They didn’t start out that way.
They started small. One session a week.
One good decision a day. One bit of momentum.
Then they built on it.
They showed up again. And again.
And now they’re doing things they never thought they could.
It wasn’t because they smashed it from day one.
It was because they stuck at it on day 20, 40, 100.
Progress doesn’t come from perfection.
It comes from repetition.
The hard truth is, you’ll never feel fully ready.
Life won’t magically get easier.
There’s always going to be work, stress, fatigue, distractions.
So instead of waiting for the perfect moment, start now.
Start where you are. Start small. Start with what you can manage.
And if you want help?
That’s what I do.
I help people build structure that actually works around their life.
I help busy professionals, first-time HYROX competitors, injured athletes, and everyday people who just want to feel better, get a plan, get consistent, and finally make progress that lasts.
