You can do hard things. You’ve just got to want it.
The last month has been a proper test.
I set myself a 28-day challenge. Four weeks of pushing myself physically and mentally. I wanted to strip some weight, sharpen up, test my discipline, and just see how far I could take it while still running the business, coaching, and getting everything else done.
Here’s what I set out to do:
Four gym sessions a week
Three running sessions a week
15 minutes of high-intensity work at the end of every gym session
Lower calories, tight nutrition, everything tracked
It was tough. The sessions were hard, especially knowing there was always a finisher coming after the lifting. The cardio wasn’t easy either. But I stuck to it. I got it done.
End result – I lost 6 kilos. I got lean. I feel better. Sleep’s better. Energy’s up. I’ll share the progress photos soon.
But more than anything, I proved to myself what I already believed. That everything’s doable. It’s just hard.
And that’s the thing most people miss. They think they can’t do it because of work, kids, tiredness, no time. Some of those are fair enough. But there's always something you can do. Doesn’t have to be perfect. Doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Just something.
Most people don’t start because they’re waiting for the right moment. But the right moment doesn’t exist. You’ll always be busy. There’ll always be stress.
The difference is whether you do it anyway. Whether you take ownership of where you’re at and do something about it.
That’s what this challenge reminded me of.
It also reminded me how powerful momentum is. Once you’ve got it, you can ride it. But to get it, you’ve got to stop hesitating.
If you’ve been putting off sorting your training, your routine, your nutrition – this is your reminder. Start now. Don’t wait.
Coaching’s been busy too.
I opened up three gym coaching spots. Two have gone. There’s one left.
If you’ve been thinking about getting some proper support, structure, and guidance – and you’re ready to do the work – message me. We’ll have a chat and see if it’s a good fit.
This isn’t just about getting a bit fitter. It’s about having someone in your corner, helping you train hard and train smart around your lifestyle, without wasting time or guessing.
Also, I’ve just started reaching out to local rugby players.
If you play, coach, or know someone in the area who’s playing club rugby and wants to get stronger, faster, more powerful, and stay injury-free – send them my way.
I’ve worked with players from junior level to pro sport. Doesn’t matter what level you’re at. If you want to improve your performance, I’ll help you get there.
As for what’s next…
Now that the 28-day challenge is done, I need a new goal.
I’ve signed up for the Spartan Beast in October. It’s a half marathon with 30 heavy, grim obstacles along the way. Hills, carries, crawls, climbs. Pure graft.
And in 2026, I’m looking at an 82km ultra marathon in the mountains of Gran Canaria. Big hills. Big distances. Big test.
Training starts now.
These things give me focus. They push me. They give my training a purpose beyond just looking good.
So yeah, that’s where I’m at.
Life’s full on. Business is growing. Coaching is going well. The community is getting stronger.
And I’m still out here doing the work, just like I ask of my clients.
If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, now’s the time to get involved. Half the year’s gone. There’s still six months left to completely change the direction you’re heading.
But you’ve got to want it. And then you’ve got to do the work.
If you want a chat about coaching, training, or even just getting started – drop me a message.
You can reply here, message me on Instagram @bc__performance, or send a WhatsApp to 07931 337572.
No pressure. Just reach out if you’re ready.
